Class, as you know, as a rule I do not often make comments regarding articles I post to this blog. However, I will say, this map of Libya is not for the summary exercises, but rather for your consideration of what is being done in Libya. Some have made the claim the action is being carried out to protect oil interests, particular European oil interests. Others, as the administration is claiming, argue the action is to protect civilian lives. I will not offer a commentary here as to what I personally believe, because I do not want to influence you in that way. Please consider both arguments (and possibly others as well that you may have heard of) when reading news articles concerning Libya.
